Practice, practice, practice :>

I figure the best way to get used to using the tablet (Neal :D) to draw is to trace a couple of sketches first. I pulled out two really old (and really messy) sketches and did a clean outline with the tablet.

Learning how to colour is going to be a nightmare. \o\

Gordon Korman's Macdonald Hall series is one of my childhood favourites (I just re-read the entire series this year) -- I still can't believe he wrote This Can't Be Happening at Macdonald Hall when he was twelve! I love some of Korman's other books as well (though I think he's lost his touch in the newer ones), but Bruno and Boots are my favourite characters by far.

So, these two boys are at a boarding school (near Toronto! Is there really a Highway 48?) and this seven-book series tells about all their crazy antics. Bruno is the ringleader of their group and Boots is his roomate-slash-sidekick. They come up with the whackiest plans and get into all sorts of trouble (and drag their friends into it too).

The books are hilarious and all of the characters have pretty distinct personalities. Yeah, the writing is pretty simple and is targeted at young children, but the books are so much fun to read. (I've always had a soft spot for boarding school books. XD) You can probably go through each book in an hour or less, so if you can get your hands on this series, give 'em a shot! (and then come fangirl with me)

B&B fanart )

I really, really want need a scanner. But I think I'll hold off buying one until after the school year is over. It'll be like a reward -- if I get the GPA I want, then I get a scanner. If I don't, then I will get a scanner to console myself. It's a win-win situation. :) Does anyone have any scanner-recommendations? I had an HP-somethingorother scanner. It wimped out on me last year. :(
